About the HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL ZURICH

Since 2015, the Human Rights Film Festival Zurich takes place every year around the International Day of Human Rights (10 December) at KOSMOS in Zurich and illustrates feature-length documentaries as well as fiction films. The program reflects a variety of human rights themes in different geographic and social contexts. Showcasing compelling films that combine a convincing artistic language with the exploration of pressing human rights issues, topics include flight and migration, the war in Syria, women’s rights, LGBTI-rights, responsibilities of multinationals as well as the relation between resources, energy and human rights. Panel discussions after the screenings widen the scope of the program and offer the possibility to contextualize and discuss the films. The festival thus offers a platform for passionate dialogue between films and human rights. More: humanrightsfilmfestival.ch

About the ROBERT F. KENNEDY HUMAN RIGHTS FOUNDATION SWITZERLAND

The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Foundation Switzerland is a non-profit organization governed by Swiss law and acts as a partner to the internationally active NGO Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, founded in 1968 by members and friends of the Kennedy family to continue Robert F. Kennedy's unfinished work on social justice and peace after his assassination. The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Foundation in Switzerland has existed since 2015 and is primarily active in the field of human rights education. Inspired by the legacy of Robert F. Kennedy, the foundation strives for a society in which every human knows, respects and protects human rights. In order to bring about long-term and sustainable change, the foundation has developed "Speak Truth To Power" together with the competence center for human rights of the University of Zurich. Speak Truth To Power is a multi-faceted human rights education program, which is available to all educational institutions and schools in Switzerland free of charge. Speak Truth To Power consists of a book, a photo exhibition, a theatre play, and the online platform SpeakTruthToPower.ch, which aims to facilitate easy access to content for teachers and students.
