Born in Mexico and once an undocumented migrant worker in the United States, Librada Paz rose from hardship to become one of the most powerful voices for immigrant farmworkers’ rights. After years of exploitation in the fields of upstate New York, she pursued higher education and became an engineer, activist, and policy advocate. Her tireless work helped secure landmark protections for farmworkers. Librada’s story is one of resilience, justice, and transformation. A powerful reminder that courage and compassion can drive real change.

This year, Librada will be awarded the RFK Legacy Award at the annual Gala on 7 November 2025.
